The Town Plan is the long-term (20+ year) plan for the community that, while primarily focusing on land use, provides guidance for the community’s goals with respect to natural and cultural resources, parks and recreation, energy, transportation and other utilities, economic development and municipal services. The plan has been updated many times over the years, most recently in 2014.
A plan typically comprises a report detailing how outreach has been carried out in the community, conclusions that have been drawn and an action plan setting out what needs doing, when, why, by whom and at what cost.
A plan sets out a vision for how a community wishes to develop and the actions that are needed to achieve this vision. The plan is usually quite wide in scope in that it takes on board a range of issues within the community.
