Welcome to the project page for the Hercules Drive Culvert Replacement Project. In August the Town of Colchester and our contractor will be doing construction on Hercules Drive. The existing culverts that allow Sunnyside Brook to pass underneath the roadway have reached the end of their useful lives and will be replaced during this time. The project location is approximately 500 feet from the intersection with Roosevelt Highway / Route 2/7, near the Green Mountain Power substation. Per the wetland permits issued for this project, this work must be completed during "low-flow" time periods including July, August, or September.
A temporary bypass road capable of supporting tractor trailer traffic will be constructed to allow, at a minimum, alternating one way traffic at all times. There will be construction signs installed and traffic control personnel available to safely guide vehicles through the work areas as quickly and efficiently as possible. These are very busy corridors so expect delays, and please plan accordingly.
We apologize for any inconvenience and ask for your patience while we complete this important project. This project is funded by the Stormwater Utility which is part of the Colchester Department of Public Works.
The image below indicates the signage that will be used around the work area to inform the public. If you have questions about this project, please contact the Department of Public Works at 802-264-5620 or email@example.com.
