Town Clerk / Assessor's Offices Opening: 

  • The Town is seeking an Assistant Town Clerk/Property/Tax Specialist in our Town Clerk’s office. This position’s focus is on maintaining assessment database and the property tax cycle with related databases.  The position assists the public and peers with questions and requests related to the Assessor’s and Town Clerk’s office permanent records and services.  Ability to remain calm under stress is a must.  Associates Degree or 3-5 years of experience in related field, training in Town Clerk and Assessor specific areas, along with related software; background in general office and computer skills along with strong communication skills for daily and often difficult situations are required. The applicant will be required to complete Clerk trainings and learn multiple software programs. Parks & Recreation Seasonal Jobs:


  • Day Camp Director [Xtreme Camp]: The Colchester Parks & Recreation Department is seeking an individual with an Education degree, or working toward such a degree, to act as director of our Xtreme Camp during the summer of 2019 (June - August).  Qualified applicants should have 1 - 2 years of experience supervising children's activities.  First Aid & CPR certification required.  The Xtreme Camp serves children in Grades 4 - 7.  Camp Directors report directly to Program Coordinators and are responsible for developing a well-rounded camp experience for boys and girls.  Directors supervise camp staff, enforce policies, and communicate with parents on a daily basis.  Click here for the full job posting.  To apply, email Jenn your resume and a Town of Colchester Employment ApplicationApplication Deadline: March 29, 2019.
  • Seasonal Parks Maintenance Technician:  The Colchester Parks & Recreation Department is seeking a seasonal maintenance professional to assist in general maintenance of all town parks, recreation areas, beaches, cemeteries, and municipal grounds.  Applicants should have relevant experience, be familiar with a variety of hand tools, power tools, and motorized equipment, willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions, possess a valid Driver's License, and pass a background check.  This is a seasonal position running now until November 21, 2019.  40 hrs/week w/ overtime available, $16.50/hour.   • Bayside Beach Lifeguard/Swim Instructor (June - August/Sept.): The Colchester Parks & Recreation Department is seeking certified lifeguards to join our team at Bayside Beach and Bayside Paddle Sports.  Applicants must have a current Lifeguarding Certification (that does not expire before August 25, 2019), CPR/First Aid certification, and ability to work around and communicate with the public on an every day basis.  Lifeguards will also handle boat rentals at Bayside Paddle Sports and rotate lifeguarding in open water at the Bayside Inflatable Water Park.  Waterfront Lifeguarding module is a plus, but not required.  All lifeguards will also teach swimming lessons at Bayside Beach.  Click here for the full job posting.  To apply: Email Jenn your resume, Town of Colchester Employment Application,and copy of your Lifeguarding Certfication.  APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED UNTIL POSITIONS FILLED.
