The Colchester Rescue Squad (CRS) provides emergency medical services to the town of Colchester, Vermont. Like many of the rescue squads in Vermont, CRS is staffed primarily by volunteers trained in emergency medicine. Of our roughly 40 members, only 5 are Town staff.
Applicants for membership are required to have, or be willing to obtain, an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification. Members can then obtain additional training in an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) course.
All of the 26 members of Colchester Technical Rescue are also volunteers, and although they only do approximately forty calls per year, the calls are usually lengthy, sometimes lasting for days. They also spend countless hours in training for the specialized rescues they provide. For more information, please visit the Rescue Squad page, or contact us via email or call 802-264-5590.
