The Burnham Memorial Library is greatly dependent on the generous help that it receives from volunteers. Our volunteers shelve books, pick up from the drop boxes, repair books, help with special projects, and more. The library also serves as a site for students who need community service hours and also serves as a site for the Colchester Reparative Board.
In addition to our general volunteers, the library has a variety of specific volunteer groups:
The teens on our Young Adult Advisory Board, who meet on the first Monday of every month at 5:30 p.m., help with a range of library events.
The Friends of Burnham Library provide crucial fundraising support for the library's programs through its book sales, membership drives, and more.
Volunteers help with the Colchester Farmers' Market, which will be starting its third year.
The Library Trustees determine policy for the organization and provide guidance and support to the director.
