Since the detour began on June 20, the project team has monitored traffic flow daily and has made minor adjustments to signal timing and line striping to guide motorists through the detour. Removal of soil, backfilling and installation of catch basins will continue. Take a look at the photo to the right to see the excavation in progress.Deep excavation was needed to provide sufficient drainage under Route 7/2 for when it is lowered to improve sight distance for the safety of motorists. Work will resume Wednesday, July 5.Routes 7/2, 2A, 127 Intersections: The portion of Route 7/2 between Bay Rd/Rte 127 to Rte 7/2 & 2A is CLOSED for seven weeks.
