Muck It Up! Adventure Race

The Muck It Up! Adventure Race will return in 2018! Challenge yourself this fall as Colchester Parks & Recreation’s Race Series brings back the Muck It Up - Outdoor Challenge! Racers will truly enjoy this off-road course as it intertwines through woods, fields and water during Vermont’s beautiful fall foliage season. The event will involve trail running, paddling and mountain biking, on a beginner-intermediate pre-set, marked course. Racers will receive post-race refreshments, timed results, race shirt and finisher’s award. Top finishers in each division will receive the coveted Muck It Up Mantle Award!

Race Distances:

  • 7.5 Miles Mountain Biking
  • 6 Miles Trail Running
  • 3 Miles Paddling

Race Order: Mountain Bike (7.5 miles) > Trail Running (3 miles) > Paddling (3 miles) > Trail Running (3 miles)

Race Map: A detailed race map will NOT be available prior to the event.  Trails used for this race pass through various properties, and some are not under the jurisdiction of the Colchester Parks & Recreation Department (and in some cases, are private property).  A right-of-way from property owners has been obtained by the Recreation Department for race day only and participants are not allowed on the course prior to the race for liability reasons.  A course map will be emailed to registered participants the week leading up to the race; the course will be well marked with signs and volunteers to guide racers on race day.  Start, Finish, and first transition zone will be at the Upper Bayside Park Softball Field.
