The Town of Colchester has appointed Geoffrey Urbanik as the Town’s new Deputy Town Manager. Geoff comes to the position with a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and over twenty years of experience in municipal management. He most recently served as the Town Manager in Richmond, Vermont and has also served as a Town Clerk, Town Administrator, and Deputy Town Manager.
Town Manager Aaron Frank stated: “Geoff has the education, practical experience, and temperament needed for the position. He has worked in large and small communities with the range of issues that arise in municipal management: from dog licensing to databases to employee management, to working with volunteer boards and commissions to budgeting and capital project management.”
Glen Cuttitta, Director of Parks and Recreation, commented: “The Town is very fortunate to have Geoff join our team. His professional experience in managing ground level operations in Vermont small towns will benefit our community immensely.”
Sarah Hadd, Director of Planning and Zoning, remarked: “Geoff has a wide variety of experience and a track record of hands-on leadership. I am excited to have Geoff onboard as we plan for the future of Colchester.”
Geoff noted: “Colchester is a great community that offers a wonderful quality of life with services and projects that need skilled management. I am excited to be working with Aaron to address challenges and opportunities in service to the people of Colchester.”
Due to contractual requirements of his current employer, Geoff’s first day with the Town of Colchester will be September 14th. Geoff resides in Richmond with his wife and son.
