Friends of the Library Winter Book Sale - Feb. 14
Saturday, Feb. 14 from 9 am to 3 pm. Don't miss this wide variety of gently used books and audiovisual materials - all at bargain prices! The sale will include books, cd's, movies, and more, for kids and adults.
We'll be accepting book donations up until Wednesday, Feb. 11. Please, no encyclopedias, textbooks, periodicals, or books in bad condition. Can you help at the sale? The Friends need extra hands; call 264-5660 for info about volunteering.
Teen Tinker Tuesday: Miniature Book Charms - Feb. 17
Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 4:30 pm. We're making tiny books for necklaces, keychains, phone charms, or just by themselves! For ages 12 and up. Please register online.
AARP Tax Aide Program
We are currently taking appointments for the AARP Tax Aide Service, which helps seniors (55+) and lower income households (less than $35,000) to file their taxes. Appointments are on Saturdays, from 9:15 am-1:15 pm, and run until April. Call 264-5660 (and choose option 3 and then 1) to setup an appointment.
Unfortunately, this year the library will only get a limited selection of forms from the IRS, and no forms from the State.
Federal - The Library will be receiving 1040/1040A/1040EZ tax forms, but nothing else. Here are some ways to get instructions and other forms:

When ordering by phone or email, please provide 1) your name; 2) mailing address; 3) form number or form name; and 4) daytime phone number.
Opening for Trustee
The Burnham Memorial Library is seeking a Library Trustee for an (initially) one-year term, starting in March of 2015. The Library Trustees determine policy for the organization and provide guidance and support to the director. They meet at the library on the third Thursday of each month. Tabletop Gaming Night - Feb. 4 & 18
Are you interested in Euro-style board games (like Settlers of Catan or Ticket to Ride), pen & paper role playing games (like Dungeons & Dragons), or collectible card games (like Magic the Gathering)? No matter your level of experience, join us for an evening of games of all kinds, on Wednesday, Feb. 4 & 18, at 5:30 pm. The session takes place at the Colchester Meeting House, next door to the library. For participants age 14 to adult.
