Intervale Food Hub
There's still time to sign up for Intervale's Spring subscriptions. And Burnham Library is again serving as a pickup site. They have a great variety of local food subscriptions available for their 2014-2015 Winter season. Enjoy fresh, delicious local food! Options include Vermont Vegetable (a variety of local, seasonal produce), Omnivore and Vegetarian Packages (Vermont Vegetable, plus three local ingredients designed for seasonal meals at home), and Cooking Essentials (Quality local ingredients, including bread, eggs, cheese, and meat). Young Adult Music Survey
Are you a young adult? Would you like to help the library with the future of our music collection? Then fill out this survey, and share your opinions!
Update - We still have quite a few openings, especially on Saturdays. Students from the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (Colchester campus) are tutoring students in reading, math, and science at the library. The program is focused on grades 1-6, but tutoring is available in other grades for certain subjects. Sessions are scheduled for Mondays from 4-8 pm, Wednesdays from 4-8 pm, and Saturdays from 9:30 am-3 pm. There is no fee for the service. Bead-a-Bracelet - Feb. 23
Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 6 pm. Learn to make a bracelet (or two) out of beads and wire! Open to those 16 and older. Please register online.
Family Movie Night: Big Hero 6 - Mar. 6
Friday, Mar. 6 at 6 pm. The entire family can join us for a showing of the Disney animated film Big Hero 6. We'll bring the popcorn! The movie will be shown next door, at the Colchester Meeting House. Please register at our website. Please register online.
Teen Tech Week - Mar. 8-14
AARP Tax Aide Program
We are currently taking appointments for the AARP Tax Aide Service, which helps seniors (55+) and lower income households (less than $35,000) to file their taxes. Appointments are on Saturdays, from 9:15 am-1:15 pm, and run until April. Call 264-5660 (and choose option 3 and then 1) to setup an appointment.
Unfortunately, this year the library will only get a limited selection of forms from the IRS, and no forms from the State.
Federal - The Library will be receiving 1040/1040A/1040EZ tax forms, but nothing else. Here are some ways to get instructions and other forms:
