1. Call Meeting to Order

Bill Romond called the meeting to order at 6:40 p.m.

2. Roll Call

Absent: John Nichols, Don Sargent

3. Approval of Minutes - January 30, 2002

Betty Carvellas made a Motion to Approve the minutes of January 30, 2002, Pat Kearney seconded the Motion and it Passed.

4. Business

     A. Proposals Received from RFP Water Quality Plan

Two finalists will be interviewed on March 4, 2002 by Genie Soboslai and four members of the WQC: Don Sargent, Pat Kearney, Bill Romond and Steve Kruger.

     B. Discuss Input Process for Plan

     Questions to Present to Prospective Strategic Plan Managers:
          1. How to involve the public
          2. Presentation Skills and Outreach Programs
          3. Nut shell of their Report and Alternatives
          4. Cost benefit analysis, criteria and prioritization
          5. Accessibility of head person
          6. Measurements and Techniques for Evaluation

     C. Discuss Water Quality Report 2001

The group discussed their concern for better reporting on the beach closings after rainstorms. Karen Bates will write an article on Swimming Do's and Don'ts after a rainstorm.

     D. Newspaper Article

Rene Mraz-Peterson's Article did appear in the last issue of the Colchester Chronicle. Rene will continue to coordinate all efforts to provide the Chronicle with approved information.

     E. Karen Bates shared data indicating impaired Lake Champlain Waters. Information showed pollutants, Water Quality problems and remediation completion dates. This information should be shared with both candidates for the development of the Strategic Water Quality Plan. 5. Next Scheduled Meetings

The next meetings are scheduled for March 13 and March 27, 2002
