Downloadable Audiobooks, eBooks, Movies & More

The Burnham Memorial Library has several available ways for our patrons to download and stream digital content. Here is an overview of the services we have, as well as links to their pages where you can learn more about getting started. If you experience any trouble, staff are available by phone and email during open hours for assistance.

Green Mountain Library Consortium Collection

GMLCGreen Mountain Library Consortium (GMLC) is a service that offers downloadable audiobooks, eBooks and magazines to libraries throughout the state. They can be accessed on the GMLC website or on your mobile devices through the Libby app by Overdrive, a well known vendor for library downloadables. Each patron can check out up to 3 items at a time. Click here for more information.

Hoopla

hoopla logoHoopla Digital provides a wide range of content from eBooks, audiobooks, comics, movies, tv shows, music and more. Even better, everything is immediately available to borrow. Each patron gets up to 4 check outs per month. Click here for more information.

The Palace Project

palaceprojectThe Palace Project is a mobile app that allows patrons to stream ebooks and audiobooks from multiple collections. They are a nonprofit platform with the goals of providing equitable access to digital content, protecting patron privacy, and boosting the relationship between libraries and their patrons. Request Library Card Online

Interested in one of these services, but don't have a library card? If you are a Colchester resident, click on the image to the left to fill out a form for a library card. The whole process can be done through email and we will send you all of the needed information to sign up for Libby and Hoopla.
