The Vermont Agency of Transportation’s project to rebuild a section of U.S. Route 7/2 and VT Route 2A between Bay Road and Creek Farm Road will start this spring.
This project will widen the road to add turning lanes and traffic signals at the intersections of Bay Road and Creek Farm Road; lower the grade of the roadway to improve sight distance; modify some property access to improve safety; and add a shared use path and sidewalks to the area.
For the last several weeks, utility crews have been moving poles and lines to get ready for the project. The project’s contractor, G. W. Tatro, began tree clearing near Bay Road on March 28.
The project team will present final plans and introduce the contractor to the Colchester Selectboard at its meeting on Tuesday, April 11. The Selectboard meets at 6:30 p.m. at the Colchester Town Offices, 781 Blakely Road, in the Outer Bay Conference Room (3rd floor).
