[ARCHIVED] Colchester Causeway Updates Page

CausewayDamage

The Town of Colchester Parks & Recreation Department as created a web page for the Colchester Causeway where updates will be posted as more info is available.

On May 4, 2018, the Colchester Causeway sustained significant damage during storms of high winds and heavy rains, along with a high water level in the lake.  Officials from Town Administration and Parks & Recreation have been working to assess the damage and establish cost estimates.  They are also working with the State of Vermont and FEMA to explore funding options for repairs.

Updates and preliminary estimates can be found at: http://colchestervt.gov/2971/Colchester-Causeway-Path.  Any further updates will also be posted to this page, as well as Town and Recreation social media.

Please note that the path will remain CLOSED from the bridge on.  The bridge sustained structural damage during the storm and presents a significant safety hazard.  Please obey all signs on the path.

This is an evolving situation; please remember that all cost figures are estimates and could change with time and shifting lake levels.

The Local Motion Bike Ferry will remain CLOSED at this time.
