Colchester seeking public input on community recreation needs on Thursday, March 31st, 2016.

The Town of Colchester is conducting a Master Plan for Bayside Park, as well as a Needs Assessment and Master Plan for a Health and Wellness Center. We want to hear from residents, business owners, special interest groups, and any other interested parties. We will be hosting a Public Forum on Thursday, March 31st, 2016 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Colchester High School Theatre, 131 Laker Lane, Colchester, VT 05446. Everyone is encouraged to attend.

The Bayside Park Master Plan will look at the existing recreational facilities, programs, and services, conduct a comprehensive community input process, and determine the current and future level of service for the community. The plan will prioritize the needs and desires for upgrading and improving facilities and services. The Needs Assessment and Master Plan for the Health and Wellness Center will help to determine: the need for a Health and Wellness Center, the design of the facility, the planned programs, phasing, timing, funding, and other details for this project.

Together, the plans will determine the priorities of recreational facilities and activities desired by our residents, investigate what funding sources may be available, identify potential partnerships, and examine how best to support the needs of the community.

The Town of Colchester has hired GreenPlay, LLC to oversee the process. In addition to this Public Forum, a professional survey will be conducted with Colchester residents. The results will be utilized throughout the entire process. If you have any questions regarding either the Bayside Park Master Plan or the Needs Assessment and Master Plan for a Health and Wellness Center, please contact Glen Cuttitta at (802) 264-5641 or gcuttitta@colchestervt.gov
