Passport Renewals
If you have an adult issued passport (10years) that’s about to expire or is expired less than 5 years, the renewal process is done on your own by mail. Appointments are not available for this process as we do not accept renewal forms. Form DS-82 is available online at www.travel.state.gov or at the Town Clerk’s office. You will mail the completed application, old passport, new photo and check paid to the U.S. Department of State for the fee (see fee chart above).
Children’s passports can never be renewed. Once their passport has expired (5yrs), the child and their parent(s) must reapply in person using the DS-11 application and provide supporting documentation.
Applicants who are 16-17 and had a passport issued as a child will be applying for their first-time adult passport. An appointment with an agent using form DS-11 will be necessary. The renewal process and form DS-82 do not apply.
