Public Works

Effective March 18, 2020 – COVID-19
DPW Remote Operations

In response to the unprecedented global pandemic caused by the Coronavirus, and the Town Manager’s March 17, 2020 Emergency Declaration, the department of Public Works has implemented its Continuity of Operations Plan. This plan is designed for the continued delivery of crucial municipal services such as rescue, fire, police, dispatch, winter road maintenance, and other critical infrastructure maintenance.  We must support these services with facilities, equipment, and the coordination of appropriate resources.

The administrative operations of public works are now operating remotely. Please use the staff directory link on this page to reach the appropriate administrative personnel. For general inquires or requests for service, please contact our Operations Coordinator, Melaney MacKay at mmackay@colchestervt.gov, or 802-264-5620.

Our maintenance crews will be focusing on supporting and providing crucial municipal services. This includes keeping the public transportation system open, the Town’s sewer system operating, and keeping all emergency response or other critical equipment and facilities operational. Please understand that we may not have the ability to address non-urgent complaints or issues at this time, but will do our best to get to them as quickly as we can. Thank you for your patience as we all work through this challenge together.
