Public Works

Effective May 27, 2020 – COVID-19

DPW Reduced Services

The Department of Public Works is temporarily operating with reduced staff and other resources due to COVID-19, resulting in the reduction or suspension of some Town services. This is necessary due to the impact of Federal and State COVID-19 related work rules on service delivery, higher Town expenses related to COVID-19, and reductions in Town fee revenues due to the evolving public health emergency and related economic and regulatory climate. We thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging time. Departmental changes are as follows:

No Change: Roadway patching, gravel road maintenance, pavement markings, stormwater pipe repair, roadside ditching, building repairs, equipment maintenance, Town sewer system.

Reduced: Roadway sign maintenance, roadside mowing, tree maintenance, stormwater structure repair, stormwater structure cleaning, street sweeping.

Suspended: Roadside trash removal, lawn damage repair, personnel training.

The administrative operations of public works are generally operating remotely based on State work rules related to COVID-19. Please use the staff directory link on this page to reach the appropriate administrative personnel by email. For general inquires or requests for service, please contact our Public Works Coordinator, Justin Pero at, or 802-264-5620. The DPW Administrative staff is available for limited office appointments from 7:30 am to noon.

No Change: Customer service, regulatory compliance, development review, right-of-way permitting, departmental management.

Reduced: Capital Projects

Suspended: Planning, policy development, studies, education and outreach.
