38th Annual Winter Carnival

All activities will take place outside at Bayside Park.
The annual Colchester Winter Carnival is a winter tradition that brings hundreds of families out every year to participate in fun activities!
Schedule of Events:
10:00 AM - 4:30 PM Winter Carnival Info & Bracelet Booth
Your Winter Carnival bracelet is your admission to every activity unless otherwise noted. Buy one for $5.00 at the locations listed on the cover, or at the Carnival. Children ages 2 and under are free. Everyone who attends is encouraged to purchase a bracelet regardless of their level of participation in Winter Carnival activities to support the event.

10:00 AM - 3:00 PM Horse Drawn Hay Rides
Catch a hay ride around Bayside Park.
Location: near Bayside basketball court.

10:00 AM - 3:00 PM The Big Blue Trunk Train
Catch a ride to and from the Colchester High School Parking Lot to Bayside Park. Why walk to the festivities when you can ride!
Location: Colchester High School/Bayside Upper Field.
10:00 AM - 3:00 PM Twirly Whirly
This new ride is sure to be a favorite with the kids! Come twirl around with us as we celebrate winter. Location: Bayside Basketball Court.

10:00 AM - 3:00 PM Pony Rides
It is never too cold to take a pony ride. Put on your cowboy hat and go for a ride that you will remember for quite some time.
Location: Tree grove near playground.

When you get hungry, check out the reasonably-priced family fare served by local non-profit organizations.
Location: Pavilion.
10:00 AM - 3:00 PM Snow Shoe Trials
Put your game face on and come see how fast you are in the snow shoe trials. You will run around the volleyball court and your time will be recorded. Those in each age category that have the best time will win an awesome prize.
Location: volleyball court.
10:00 AM - 3:00 PM Fire Pits
Warm your hands and toes so you can continue your fun.
Location: Open space near volleyball court.

10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Story Walk
Walk through the woods as you read a fantastic book about weather provided by the Burnham Memorial Library. Location: Wooded area between skatepark and Laker Lane.
10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Cornhole
Adults show off your skills at cornhole. Play against your kids or other adults. This timeless game will be a great way to relax between other activities. Location: Open space near bathroom.

10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Sledding Hill
Bring your sled and enjoy a man made hill at Bayside Park. This is weather dependent. Location: parking lot near lower tennis courts.

Don’t forget to bring your ice skate! Our parks staff have made ice just for this event. We are so excited to be able to offer this great activity at the carnival this year. Location: Lower Tennis Courts.
11:00 AM - 2:00 PM Sugar on Snow & Maple Cotton Candy
ONE PER BRACELET OF EACHMike & Ethan Guillemette have generously agreed to cook up some of this old-fashioned Vermont favorite. Stop by the entrance of Bayside Park and get a free sample with your Winter Carnival bracelet!

Join officers from the Colchester Police Department for skating on the outdoor rink! Location: Lower Tennis Courts

THE COLCHESTER TALENT SHOW IS CANCELLED FOR THE 2022 WINTER CARNIVAL.

1st place = $200; 2nd place = $100; 3rd place = $50
A special "People's Choice" award will also be given for $50. Link for voting will be posted here by Friday night.
Admission Tickets:
TBD per person (ages 2 and under = FREE)The Winter Carnival information booth will be open 5:00 - 7:00pm on Friday night for ticket sales. All visitors who wish to view the show must purchase a Winter Carnival bracelet, which will also grant entry to all events and activities on Saturday.

REMINDER:
FOOD AND BEVERAGES ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE THEATRE. The Colchester High School Performing Arts Center has a strict policy, so we must stress that food and beverages are not to be brought into the theatre. Concessions will not be for sale this year.
Overflow Seating:
Spectators who are not able to find a seat in the theatre, or prefer a more flexible space for young children, are welcome to view the show from the CHS Cafeteria, where a live stream video will be set up. You won't miss any of the action!
